Hey guys! It's Earth Hour in 10 minutes, and I'm psyched! I hope at least some of you try as best as you can to shut off things that you don't need on. Rock on, guys! Everything will be going off in my house, except the fridge - I can't really unplug that one for several reasons. Have fun in the dark, guys!
Earth Hour in 10 Minutes!

how exciting it would be if we had an earth day, and for the WHOLE day we turned most of the electricity off. I mean, fridges, life sustaining machines, traffic lights, etc will stay on, but everything else off: computers, tv, microwaves, blow driers, radios, etc.
One day off for stock market, wow. I can only imagine the impact one day can make. And what about casinos and the money they will be losing. It would be cool to see the repercussion one day can have.
When NY had a black out, it was the most interesting and amazing thing to see. At first many didn't know what to do. Some wanted to steal, and probably did. Others took the opportunity to party hard, so that the liquor & food wouldn't go to waste. Other helped monitor traffic, enjoyed conversations on stoops, and spread the word (faster than the internet lol of what was going on)
I think a productive "black out" (ie hospitals would have their power) would be beneficial to the world, society, and mother Earth.
I definitely agree that the world needs a huge (planned) shut down, or maybe even forced (to an extent) in order for us to realize what's going on, and how we can even effect our own lives. Nobody socializes these these anymore like people used to long ago, and I definitely miss it.
I grew up in a household that didn't have a constant flow of electricity, so a lot of the time we would have lanterns fired up for light, and we would all be talking and communicating and just being a family and all.
I'm sure lots of people out there would find any time away from anything electric very frustrating and infuriating. Unless this world turns REALLY GREEN, VERY FAST, "black outs" every once in a while might be fun. Hehe!
