I don't know how outdated I will sound, but i think the word you are looking for is brand loyalty... I buy everything Mac, call me crazy but i got hooked some time ago and though Mac has it's issues and drives me crazy at time on the whole, i will choose Mac over other products.

Also, I am not a fan of Nike, one bad experience and they are now shit listed in my book. People swear by them, and I let it slide (how can they be so simple minded, and naive??? Crazy brand loyal consumers lol)

Thanks for the comment, Tom. I agree completely. The reason why I used this word is because that is the way a lot of people these days are identifying "fanboys." There are the arseholes and then just the fans, but just because someone stands for a single product because of its positive aspects, it doesn't make them a fanboy.

And to most people around me, being a Fanboy is something negative. To me, I think it's a good term to use for someone who's dedicated towards the things that work well for them.

While I agree with you, I think your usage of the term "fanboy" is slightly skewed. To quote the life-bible that is Wikipedia:

"Fanboy (sometimes spelled fanboi) is a term used to describe an individual who is devoted to a single subject in an emotional or fanatical manner, or to a single point of view within that subject, often to the point where it is considered an obsession."

I would therefore differentiate it to being either: a "fan" when you like a certain brand and would choose it given a choice, but are prepared to consider others if you can see that they have merits for a specific task; or a "fanboy" who argues that their chosen product is better than anything else with no exceptions -- in other words an arsehole.
